Kebede Maro is a 68 year old farmer who is running his farm together with his wife and children. He started coffee cultivation on the plot of land given to him by his father. Working together with a group of 5-10 single farmers they werk each of their farms in turns. This way they manage to do more werk than when they would do only their own farm. The coffee is handpicked and dried on raised beds lor 18-20 days.
lt is his goal to werk directly with coffee importers or roasters. By doing this he will be able to lead a better Life and modernize the farm. His aim is to implement different techniques that will increase coffee yield without compromising traditional way of keeping coffee’s organic nature.
