When drinking filter coffee you may not immediately think of the freshness of the coffee beans, but did you know that the quality of your coffee deteriorates 6 weeks after roasting? That’s why the roasting date is on the label of the coffee bag. If you buy coffee beans, buy about a month’s worth of coffee beans. This way you always drink the same quality filter coffee. If you order before 12 noon on working days, we will send the coffee beans the same day.

More than 89% of our coffee beans are direct trade coffee. Direct trade is not the same everywhere, but by direct trade we mean: once a year we go to the plantation and we buy and pay directly to the producer. By paying more for the coffee beans than the world market price, we contribute to, for example, training or production improvement, so that farmers can run a healthier plantation and receive a living income. Moreover, we can buy the very best quality coffee beans and together we invest in a sustainable future.

We also have decaffeinated coffee beans in our range. The coffee beans are decaffeinated using the Swiss Water® Process. In the Swiss Water® Process, the green coffee beans are placed in small quantities in a bath with a caffeine-free ‘green coffee extract’. The caffeine from the coffee beans pulls out of the bean and into the water. This takes about 10 hours. In the meantime, the caffeine content is carefully checked until the coffee beans are 99.9% caffeine-free.

It doesn’t matter how you prepare your coffee beans, we have coffee beans that are specially roasted for filter coffee and for espresso. Because when making espresso, flavor has to be extracted from the coffee beans in a short time, these coffee beans are roasted slightly differently than the coffee beans for filter coffee. So when buying coffee beans, make sure you put the right coffee in your basket.
